10/17/2005: "Rm211 Brian Horan- Discipline issues."

Overview
I became rather frustrated with this class. I had them practice entering the room, and there was some difficulty getting them to stop talking while I was addressing the entire class. It was difficult to get to the actual activity. There was a lot of commotion during instructions that I gave to the entire class. I felt the neccessity to use ever harsher discipline measures. At one point I explained that if they continued I would ask them to return to their room. They did not change their behavior, and I asked them to leave. It was also time for them to go, but we were not able to continue at that rate.

Next time...
How do I motivate them to behave good? What do they want? How do I calm them down? How do I roll out discipline that is appropriote? I do not enjoy disciplining the class. However, if I do not, then the potential for inspiration and learning will not be protected. I should talk to Mr. Horan about this.
